From UPSL Florida to Scotland: Florida Premier’s Ethan Schilte-Brown Thriving with Kilmarnock FC

March 4th, 2026

Former Florida Premier and UPSL Florida standout Ethan Schilte-Brown continues to impress at the professional level, excelling with Kilmarnock FC in the Scottish Premiership. Born June 1, 2005, in Virginia, Schilte-Brown spent much of his youth development years in Florida before beginning a rapid rise through the ranks. A commanding 6’3” center back, he has translated his early promise into consistent first-team performances at one of Scotland’s historic clubs.

During his time in the UPSL as a young player, Schilte-Brown also spent time with youth academy club Tampa Bay United, where his physical presence and defensive maturity shined. Ahead of the 2023 season, he signed with Kilmarnock, embarking on a European journey that included loan spells with other Scottish clubs to gain valuable senior experience shortly after signing. These loan seasons proved instrumental in preparing him for top-flight football.

This season has marked a true breakthrough for Schilte-Brown, as he has cemented his place in Kilmarnock’s first team. He has made 19 appearances in the Scottish Premiership so far and has played the full 90 minutes in each of the club’s last 10 matches. Among those performances was a full match against reigning champions Celtic FC, where Kilmarnock narrowly fell 3–2 in an intense, hard-fought contest that showcased Schilte-Brown’s composure and maturity in the backline.

Eligible to represent both Canade and the United States at senior level, Schilte-Brown has appeared twice for Canada’s U20 national team and continues to develop as an international-caliber defender. With a contract at Kilmarnock running through 2028 and a growing role at club level, the future is bright for the Canadian American defender. His journey from UPSL Florida to regular Scottish Premiership minutes is a testament to his work ethic and potential, and it’s only up from here.
