Former UPSL National Finals MVP Yan Diomande Has Joined La Liga side CD Leganes

January 15th, 2025

A year after winning the UPSL Spring National Finals, and finishing the playoffs as top-scorer and National Finals MVP, 18-year-old forward Yan Diomande has recently completed his transfer to C.D Leganes in La Liga.

Diomande moves to C.D. Leganes on a free transfer and is expected to join the club officially this month. Known for his “speed, quality in the final third and vision”, C.D. Leganes coaches were very impressed by Diomande after his trial with the team over in Spain.

After most recently competing for DME Academy (Daytona Beach, FL) in the Florida Central Premier Division conference, the Ivory Coast Youth National team player will now be the third UPSL player signed by C.D. Leganes. Former UPSL players Jorgeluis Garcia from Miami Beach CF in 2022 and Lorenzo Orellano from Santa Ana Winds in 2021 also signed contracts with the club.

Diomande shared his excitement after signing for the club. “I am very grateful for this opportunity; I want to express my gratitude to all the people involved in my signing. I can’t wait to start’.

The UPSL congratulates Yan Diomande as he embarks on this next chapter in his playing career. To stay up to date on all the teams competing in the UPSL this season or to apply to join for the upcoming Spring season, visit premier.upsl.com
