UPSL Premier Division Fall 2022 Regular Season Top Goal Scorers

December 6th, 2022

The 2022 UPSL Fall season was filled with plenty of attacking football and goals scored. At the conclusion of every regular season, the UPSL hands out top scorer awards to every region’s top goal scorer. We sat down with all four top goal scorers from all four regions in the UPSL Premier Division to talk about their Fall season. Congrats to all four winners for the 2022 Fall season.

Cesar Romero (ADG FC) – Top Goal Scorer UPSL West Region – 24 goals

“After finishing in the top four last season, it’s an honor to not only be awarded Top Goal Scorer for the West region, but also the overall Top Goal Scorer nationally. It’s always nice to have personal achievements, but for me the most important thing is working with my teams towards becoming UPSL national champions. My teammates make is so much easier for me to keep scoring, the hard work we all put in shows, and we work hard for each other.”

“Playing in this league is a big opportunity for me and there is a lot of talent throughout the league. The next step for my teammates and I are to not only become national champs, but to get opportunities with USL and MLS clubs. That’s the dream.”

Junior Rosero (Oyster Bay United)– Top Goal Scorer UPSL East Region – 24 goals

“After finishing last season with 18 goals, to be featured on the top scorers list again is an amazing feeling. I set a goal before the season started to score 20 goals, and it’s incredible to be able to achieve that.”

“I couldn’t have done it without my teammates pushing me and when the team plays hard together and doesn’t take their foot off the pedal, the goals come. My teammates helping me and maintaining a strong mentality throughout the season is what got me this far. As a forward, the pressure is on your shoulders to produce, and there is a balance you need to maintain to deal with that. It’s all about learning to bounce back and focus on the next play or the next game when things don’t go your way.”

Kingsley Ezejiofor (D10 Lions) – Top Goal Scorer UPSL Central Region – 16 goals

“Every time I step on the field, I believe I can score, and what helps with that is the hard work my teammates and I put in every day. When I score, I do so for my teammates, for myself and my family who believe in and support me”

“Our team’s tactics focus a lot on attacking football and we have a good group of players that get along well, so that team chemistry also helps produce results for us on the field. The secret is putting in hard work and believing in yourself and the teammates around you. The self-belief and work ethic I have is something I hope can take me to the next level in my soccer career, either here in the US or overseas”

Timothy Williams (Port City FC) – Top Goal Scorer UPSL Southeast Region – 14 goals

“Most of the goals I scored this season I have to give credit to my teammates that help make the game so much simpler. My mindset as a forward is to be relentless and fight for every chance to score goals, no matter the score line or if I’ve missed previous chances. If I’m relentless in putting pressure on the opponent and keep working hard, I always know good things will come.”

“Our strength as a team was our ability to break the opponent’s midfield line quickly, once we did that, we had several players who could change the game in an instant. The fact that the team was able to create so many chances helped me score so many goals, my teammates and coaches were integral to my always scoring. The experiences I have had in this league have been key to my development as I take the next step in my professional soccer career.”

As the UPSL Fall season comes to a close, we build towards the National Finals, set to kick off in Irvine, California on February 5th.
